Love, love, love this show!! There is just something about it that got me hooked from episode one!! Can’t wait for Season 2, and very happy to hear there will be at least a Season 3.

Wow! So happy to hear that there will be a Season 3 and possibly more seasons. I really enjoy watching this show, as I am a Star Trek fan (watched all Star Trek Incarnations, except Discovery as that is not free to watch and you have to have a TV subscription to CBS All Access.). I just love that it’s on FOX. The characters are so different than Trek as it is a drama with a Comedy element also.

Gayle I found the characters to be very similar to Star Trek, especially TNG. They threw in just enough of a twist to try and avoid a lawsuit. Bortis makes a pretty good Klingon, Alara is a good Yara Tash substitute, Dr. Finn does a great Dr. Crusher as mom impression, and for some reason, Isaac reminds more than little Byte of DATA.
I must say, I’m surprised you completely missed these similarities.
But maybe I’m just grabbing at strings.

Yara Tash? … I think it was more Tasha Yar?
        – they’d shoot you at most convention for that mistake o_0

I cant see (based on season one) Discovery being star trek; I have not seen the changes that they’ve done for season two but hear it’s supposed to be more like Star Trek thankfully. I as well couldn’t see paying for CBS all access so just waited until it came out on dvd….cheaper and can watch any time…

The topic is Orville here. Orville is comedy set in a space surounding. ST is much more pure Sci-Fi. It has two different targets (viewers wise) these shows, people keep comparing those. It tells more about themselves than what the show is worth/About. I love both shows, they are VERY different.

The article came Dec and the ratings have dipped below 3 million this season and down since last year. It is treading dangerously to the chopping block..

Those ratings you spoke of are meaningless in this day and age. When you look at the whole week and DVR viewings, then it is well many other shows. People watch shows when they wish to not just when they air.

I am a gung-ho fan of the the Orrville! I sure hope the real future is not a nightmare apocalyptic future and is a wonderful future like on The Orrville. One of the things I like best about the The Orrville, is in that future it is possible to regrow missing limbs on amputees, to the point that cutting off somebody’s leg can be a joke!

I LOVE this show and even got my husband hooked . We are SO looking forward to more and more seasons. This show has some really compelling messages along with tongue-in-cheek humor. It would be a real let down if it got cancelled

Best show I’ve seen in a long time. I look so forward to snuggling up with my husband and some popcorn and watching each week. Very imaginative, well cast and well written. Can’t get enough, keep it coming!

Honestly, coming from a Star Trek and Stargate SG1 fan background, I am really pleasantly surprised at this show and how well its done. I think they’ve done an excellent job of character building and so far the writing is some of the best. I wasn’t at first sure how I would take this show but it really surprised me. And this season 2 with the Kaylon story line was excellent. I hope they continue with this. Honestly, this show could command a fan base much larger if given the chance. Perhaps a earlier time slot and a 20 to 24 week episode length. Unless they get too PC and keep the stories/characters going as they are, I will continue to tune in each episode for another adventure with the crew of the Orville.

I am sooooo happy that their will be a 3rd season among rumors it could be cancelled. I am not what you call a sci-fi fan but I love this show. It’s ability to showcase serious issues in a caring light hearted way has me coming back every week. It has all the right stuff love, humor, family issues, drama all made more interesting with good subject matter and good writing not to leave out the great acting skills and makeup. I never miss an episode I hope to watch this program for years to come. We just Love it!

Love the cast and the show. Funny, suspense and good writing. When I heard it might not come back, was very very upset. It seems all the show I watch get cancelled. I welcome season 3 and beyond. Sounds like a science fiction remark! Anyone know what happened with the first girl that played security?

I know, I have directtv now….I watch all the Orville episodes on Hulu. Love that show! It is the best show on tv, especially if you are a Star Trek fan. It is a cross between the original Star Trek and Star Trek NG……only better!! Please Fox, give this show a chance even beyond a season 3. Season 2 was awesome!
