The Opposition with Jordan Klepper Cancelled – No Season 2 For Comedy Central Series

June 15, 2018 by TVShowsCancelled 3 Comments

Comedy Central has cancelled The Opposition with Jordan Klepper after one season. Per Deadline, the cabler has opted not to continue the daily late-night program into Season 2.

However, Klepper will remain on the network with a new weekly series, currently titled Klepper:

The Opposition‘s last episode will air on June 28. Klepper just shared the news with the show’s staff. Development on the new show will start right after, with pre-production slated to begin in the fall and a premiere eyed for early 2019 in the 10 PM-11 PM time period.

The timing of the decision stems from the fact that The Opposition was wrapping its first season, with a slew of contracts for people in front and behind the camera coming up for renewal for another year.

RIP.

I watch clips from the show on You Tube in England as the full show isn’t on Comedy Central here. I’m really sad that they have cancelled the show, as it’s one of the funniest, and certainly just about the cleverest, topical shows right now.
I’ll just have to hope that the new show is as good. Luckily I’m able to watch Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show on Comedy Central.

The show was pretty much a retread of the old “Colbert Report” formula, with the host a parody of a right wing moron, but Klepper did a good job with it.

Perhaps the problem here was that Cheeto and those he surrounds himself with are so over the top fucking ridiculous themselves that parody itself has become irrelevant. Look at any “legitmate” news headlining concerning this so-called President, and tell me it wouldn’t have come straight out of “The Onion” anytime prior to 2016.

The only thing that surprises me about Comedy Central is that they have actually guaranteed “The Daily Show” with Trevor Noah through 2022. That show is a pathetic shell of what it once was. Jon Stewart would have been nailing it night after night with this fucking Orange Circus Clown in the White House. Trevor’s not even in the same ballpark. Not that I can blame him, given this regime’s treatment of immigrants.

Saw this coming a mile away. In order for a comedy to stay on the air it has to be funny. Bashing President Trump for an hour each night isn’t funny. Its just sad. At least were saved from having to listen to all those stupid promos. One more liberal show bites the big one. They need more viewers to succed and alienating millions of viewers never work. They never learn.
