Quacks has flatlined in the gleeful arms of the reaper.
The BBC has cancelled the medical sitcom after one season, despite creative hopes for Series 2.
Shane Allen, BBC controller of comedy commissioning, confirmed the cancellation of Quacks to RadioTimes, stating that the show didn’t make the cut:
“Sadly there are currently no plans for another series as we don’t have the room to bring everything back – we have a set amount of sitcoms and need to bring through new shows each year.”
RIP.

Why cancel one of the funniest sitcoms on the BBC? The quality cast and the dark humour of Victorian learning of anatomy and death not to mention the troubled love lives of the characters made this a show well worthy of a second series. Shame!
