Nightflyers Season 2 wont take flight.
Syfy has cancelled the space series after one low-rated season, sources confirm to TVShowsCancelled.com.
Following a muted viewer response, the cabler has opted to make Nightflyers a one-and-done, despite creative plans for Season 2 and a lucrative Netflix deal.
Set in the year 2093, Nightflyers, based on Martin’s novella, followed a team of scientists aboard The Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission takes them to the edge of the solar system, and to the edge of insanity, as they realize true horror isn’t waiting for them in outer space—it’s already on their ship. Eoin Macken, Ajala, Gretchen Mol, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, and Brían F. O’Byrne starred.
Sources say there are no plans to take Nightflyers Season 2 to other platforms, rendering it to the cancellation graveyard without hope of a revival any time soon.

That’s a shame, they should at least see if another network is interested.
Literally just made me so sad reading this I don’t know why it didn’t get great ratings I thought it was fantastic! during its run I literally was the happiest I’ve been in a very long time and I’m 45 ~not much makes me happy anymore LOL and I’m so bummed that they’re not gonna look at other platforms _that Syfy keeps canceling good freaking shows. I need more Syfy!
Typed NightFlyer into Google, and got redeem frequent flyer points. Not looking good for a series 2.
I enjoyed the series, yet needed to pay attention to the plot to really follow the story. If there ever is a Series 2, Mel must be Captain, she was by far the most sensible and in tune with the mission objectives, safety of the crew etc.
Season 1 seemed pretty self contained to me. I didn’t realize they would plan a season 2…unless maybe it would be an anthology with totally different players. It was definitely a wild ride and an enjoyable one at that. At least Amazon is bank rolling another season of The Expanse.
