Newsflash: Crime & Justice With Ashleigh Banfield, Across America With Carol Costello and Michaela have joined the infinitely-expanding list of TV shows cancelled.
In what is being described as a ‘bloodbath’, HLN has axed all three live news shows.
The cancelled shows will all air their series finales Friday, Oct. 26.
As a result, HLN will expand Morning Express With Robin Meade to six hours, from 6AM to 12PM, while On the Story will also get an extra hour, running from 12PM to 3PM.
HLN chief Ken Jautz said the decision to axe Crime & Justice With Ashleigh Banfield, Across America With Carol Costello and Michaela was the result of poor ratings:
“The current cable news landscape is dominated by politics. Our live news shows have not benefitted from this trend given our story mix. However, HLN’s longform programs have been performing very well.
In today’s news environment, every network has to focus on its strengths. To ensure HLN’s growth, we will shift some of our resources from live to longform programming and produce our live shows in as streamlined a manner as possible. The best way to do this is to centralize production of live news programming in Atlanta.”
He added:
“We built a top-notch lineup of some of the best anchors and show teams in the industry, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished together these past few years.”

Watched Ashleigh Banfield every time she was on. I thought she does a great job and hate to see her go. Will not be tuning in at that time of night any more.
I’m right there with you Candace! Forensic Files???? From 10 years ago vs. current crimes???? Um, no thanks! Ashleigh is a great host and I hope you get smart and bring her back in some fashion.
I really liked Banfield’s show, but she stayed too long on the Watt murders. Day after day after day, heralding some new development, which was not significant. then, the rest of the hour was simply re-hshing the same stuff over and over.
I will definitely miss Banfield’s show. Had it scheduled to come on every night. What a shame! Will move on to another network. Very upset!
I watch Ashley every night. She talks about news that’s barely mentioned on the other networks. As for Morning Express, I never watch it because Robin does to much giggling. I can’t believe you are giving this show six hours. HLN you gave up Nancy Grace and Jane Valez Mitchell and now Ashley. You might as well take down your network.

Sad to see Crime and Justice With Ashleigh Banfield go. There is nothing on your channel that interests me any longer. Just lost another viewer. Hope your ratings start to drop!

OMG. Ashley Banfield was the best. Watched her every night. And cute to boot. She tackled the tough issues. Can’t believe the ratings were low. Ashley I hope to see you soon on another show soon. I will miss you
very sad to see crime & justice go. I watched it every night. Liked Ashley much better than Nancy but did feel she stayed too long on the Chris Watts story each night However I sure miss her show.
Love Ashley! So sad! Loved that her program was about crimes that were current. Always so interesting! It was refreshing to watch news with out all the politics and Trump talk. I will miss this show terribly! There is only so many episodes of forensic files a person can watch.

I am Still fuming about the cancellation of Crime and Justice with Ashley Banfield- I taped it and watched it every morning to catch up on the cases going on. Now there is no show at all to get that information!! I will not watch HLN anymore!!!!
Yup I would watch HLN all day..I enjoyed catching up on American news. I did think Ashley Banfield stayed too long on the Chris Watts case, but other than that the only one I’m not sorry to see go is Carol Costello, she voiced her own opinions too much and she didnt necessarily know the truth. Very disappointed and your ratings will take a huge nose dive. Just kill the whole network and replace it with something that works!!!

So very disappointed that Ashleigh Banfield Crime & Justice was cancelled! I no longer see a reason to watch HLN. It was great to be able to watch this news show, with its informed commentators, and opinions that you no longer see on the political channels.
I think you missed the mark on this cancellation HLN, we want to be kept abreast on the current crimes, missing and updates in the judicial system and my fellow Canadian Ashleigh was the perfect host for the job!

has survived. They are all so old and you run them over and over. I cannot stand to watch anymore
of them. I truly miss Crime & Justice. Watched it every night but will never turn to HLN again.
Shame on HLN for dropping Crime & Justice. Watched it every day and feel we have no way now to keep up with current crime on a daily basis.. Many people i know have voiced this same opinion.to me. Why not change HLN to Forensic Files network.I somtimes turned HLN on in am, leaving it on all day., I no longer watchi it at all.
