According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has contracted a new TV show called Betty.
The new series based on the 2018 skateboarding film has landed a six-episode order and it is penned by “Skate Kitchen” co-writer and director Crystal Moselle along with Leslie Arfin. Both are serving as executive producers, and Moselle is directing, Variety reports.
“Betty,” like “Skate Kitchen,” centers on a group of teen skateboarders living in New York City who are part of an all-girls collective that’s inspired by a real group. We’ll see a lot of familiar faces; Dede Lovelace (Janay), Rachelle Vinberg (Camille), Nina Moran (Kurt), Moonbear (Honeybear), and Ajani Russell (Indigo) have all returned to portray their characters from the movie, per Deadline.
