Alice is the next cancelled TV show getting the reboot treatment.
FOX has given a put pilot commitment to the multi-camera comedy based on the 1976 CBS TV series starring Linda Lavin, per Deadline:
Written and executive produced by Cody and Astrof, Alice is based on the TV series Alice, which in turn was based on the 1974 feature film Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, directed by Martin Scorsese. The Fox reboot centers on Long Island housewife Alice Hyatt, who has finally worked up the courage to leave her cheating husband. She drives cross-country to Arizona with her teenage son Tommy, and gets a job as a waitress at a roadside diner where the staff becomes their new surrogate family.
The original Alice TV show survived nine seasons on CBS from 1976 to 1985.
Would you welcome Alice back with open arms? Should Alice stay trapped in cancellation hell? Watch this space…

I would Love to see a Reboot of my absolute Favorite Tv Show of my entire Life, But I would Love to see Alice/Linda Lavin in the new one somewhere as well as Tommy/Michael McKean. I would also Love to see any of the Original Cast Members that are still around & able, I do know that Vera/Beth Holland passed away a few yrs ago unfortunately as well as good ole Mel Sharples/ Vic Tayback has passed away. But I’m pretty sure that Flo, Belle and Jolene are still here with us. I have seen Jolene/Celia Watson in recent years on Tv Shows that I have watched like Modern Family, Memphis Beat and if I’m not mistaken she was even in 1 of the American Horror Stories season’s I think it was the one with the Circus or Freak Show .. I always did Love Jolene or Celia Watson as an Actress. And Linda Lavin is one of the Best Love her to death. I Loved her in her recent 9JKL comedy they just recently cancelled it was hilarious, also loved her in Mom on CBS .. I look forward to an Alice Reboot but Please have some of the Original Cast especially Linda Lavin if not more of em.. Thank You

I agree! Maybe they can come in as cameos or guest roles as different characters if they can’t come back as their original roles.

While I would love to see Alice again, I am not certain why todays writers cannot come u p with new ideas instead of everything being a remake of someone elses ideas

Yes loved Alice. Although I’ve readread was not loved by her Co-stars. That always made me sad. I’ve read she was mean spirited to Polly Holliday and many others in the show. But if they’ve repaired their rift isI love to see a re-boot.
