Grimm is escaping the cancellation graveyard in the form of a spinoff series.
NBC are reviving the cancelled supernatural drama as a spinoff that will serve as a continuation of the original series, THR reveals:
NBC is going back to its Grimm past: The network is developing a spinoff of the series, which ran for six seasons on the network.
The new project, from writer Melissa Glenn (Zoo, Leverage) and Grimm producers Universal TV and Hazy Mills, would be a continuation of Grimm’s world. Building on the mythology of the original series, the spinoff will feature returning favorites along with new characters, new mysteries and new dangers.
Glenn and Hazy Mills principals Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner are executive producing. Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt, two of Grimm’s three co-creators (along with Stephen Carpenter), will serve as consulting producers.
Per Deadline:
Written by Melissa Glenn (Marvel’s Iron Fist), the untitled spinoff, I hear, will center on a female Grimm. Per NBC, building off the mythology of the original series, the new show will feature returning fan favorites while also introducing new characters, new dangers and epic new mysteries. I hear no actors are currently attached but the idea is for the offshoot to feature some original cast members, regular or recurring.
Grimm is freshly buried, surviving six seasons from 2011 to 2017. The spinoff show is being eyed for the 2019-20 season.

I loved the Grimm fairytale aspects of the show and the actors, especially David Giuntoli. I do hope he comes back and Russell Hornsby played his partner well. I was severely upset when it was cancelled. For those of us who like these “types” of shows, i.e. X-files, fringe, sleepy hollow–we needed Grimm. Glad to see it coming back. Diane D.
Bernard Goudreau says

Any new news? I would love to see it centered around the Spice Shop – with of course Monroe and Rosalee mentoring their triplets and lots of appearances by the original cast. As much as I love the “fairy tale” wesen aspects, it was the chemistry between all the players that made the show awesome!
Lisa says
I loved the show and I hope the NICK and TRUBEL Character will be back as well.
Jolly says
I was enjoying the article until I got to the giant Wal-Mart advertisement that covered the last of the story and could not be closed or moved.
I am, however thrilled by the idea of them bringing Grimm back.
Barbara Benware says
Rosalle and Monroe are a must I loved visiting the tea shop every week. I look forward to this comeback.
Airryn says
I love it! Although I do have a few suggestions, nick, Rosales and eve should start the wesen council. Hank should be the police captain, Woo should be detective along with Kelly. Then Ranard can be mayor with Truble close by and the triplets along with Diana can be the help needed on the streets with Monroe as their guide. Hey it’s not a perfect placement but it’s a start. What do you guys think about the lineup and what would you change, also sorry buzz your still around in the same capacity.
Kathryn Schroy says
I absolutely LOVED THE GRIMM SHOW and can’t wait for it to come back!
