New Amsterdam Season 2 renewal is coming soon, according to today’s big development.
In a sign of confidence, NBC has ordered an additional 9 episodes of the medical drama, bringing its Season 1 episode count to 22.
Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment said:
“It’s thrilling to come out of the gate this season with a series that has resonated so well with audiences. The show hits the sweet spot of the NBC brand – positivity, emotion and incredible storytelling. A huge thank you to our fantastic cast, executive producers, Universal Television and everyone who has worked so hard in getting the show off to such a terrific start.”

I think that New Amsterdam is so well done. It is so refreshing to see a Medical Director and Staff who truly care. I so look forward to Tuesday night, and all due to This is Us and New Amsterdam. Hope that New Amsterdam is definitely renewed.
