EXCLUSIVE: To the surprise of no-one, AMC has quietly renewed The Walking Dead for Season 10, insiders inform TVShowsCancelled.com.
The renewal leaks as departing star Andrew Lincoln reveals his plans to return to The Walking Dead next year, as a Season 10 director.
The actor told EW:
“I’m going back. I’m going back to shadow a director, and my intention is to direct next year.”
AMC will let the rest of the world know about the Season 10 renewal in the coming months.
As reported, the network is already looking beyond Season 10 with plans to continue The Walking Dead for at least another decade, with spinoffs and movies part of a larger extension plan.
The Walking Dead Season 9 releases October 7, 2018.
Per insiders, The Walking Dead Season 10 is slated to premiere fall 2019.
