Shark Week Takes A Bite Out Of Snapchat
Exclusive Show “Shark Week on Snapchat” Returns to Snapchat’s Discover Page(New York, NY) –Shark Week is back on Snapchat! Discovery Digital and Snap announced today the second season of “Shark Week on Snapchat,” the 3-episode Show created exclusively for Snapchat’s Discover page. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Shark Week, this year’s Show will be bigger and better than ever, bringing the excitement of Shark Week to Snapchat’s highly active and engaged audience.
Hosted by marine biologist and fearless shark diver Luke Tipple, “Shark Week on Snapchat” kicked off on Sunday, July 22 in conjunction with the launch of the 30th Anniversary of Shark Week on Discovery Channel. The Show brings the majesty and thrill of Shark Week directly to Snapchatters by delivering jaw-some shark content that will inform, engage and educate. New episodes air for Snapchatters in the U.S. on July 25 and July 27. Previously aired episodes will be available using Snapchat’s Search feature.

“Hypnotizing Sharks” – Sunday, July 22
Luke Tipple meets Cristina Zenato, a shark expert who has been hypnotizing sharks underwater for 23 years. Together they dive down for a feeding frenzy and come face to face with some of these sharks. Tipple will also get to see Christina work her magic up close and personal.
“Surviving a Shark Attack” – Wednesday, July 25
Tipple goes cage-less and armor-less into some of the most dangerous shark filled waters to show first hand, what it’s like to be surrounded by these fierce predators. Viewers will also get a ‘sharks eye view’ as Tipple places a camera on a shark’s fin to show why it attacks and how you can keep yourself safe, if it does.
“Save our Sharks” – Friday, July 27
Hawaii is home to some of the best surfing spots in the world, but these dangerous waters are also filled with sharks, lots of sharks. Tipple will jump from a cliff in Oahu and then take viewers down into a shark cage to talk about why we are so fascinated by these majestic and deadly creatures, and how they could become extinct before we know it.
