BBC Two orders a second helping of restaurant investment series Million Pound Menu

Million Pound Menu taps into a real world of wannabe entrepreneurs and life changing investments. We saw enough from series one to know that this is a format that could really flourish on the channel.

BBC Two has ordered a second series of restaurant business show Million Pound Menu, with restaurant general manager Fred Sirieix returning to host.

Once again, budding restaurateurs will be vying for life-changing sums of investments in the food concepts they believe will be the next big culinary hit.

A select panel of industry experts will battle it out to invest in the most exciting new food ideas they feel are most deserving of their money. The first series led to six different offers, including the one million pound backing of fine dining restaurant, Epoch.

With over 25 years’ experience in the restaurant industry, Fred Sirieix says: “It is such a pleasure to be looking for the next set of operators for the new series of Million Pound Menu. Most people think money makes successful businesses. This is not true. First you need a great idea, top notch business plan and, most importantly, a can-do attitude. Get those right and the money will follow. I can’t wait, this new series is going to be incredible!”

Million Pound Menu (6×60) was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two and David Brindley, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment. It is made by Sony Pictures Television (SPT) backed Electric Ray, and the executive producer is Meredith Chambers.
