The Rookie ABC Cancelled?

ABC SETS APRIL SEASON FINALE DATES

The ABC Television Network has announced season finale dates for scripted series ending their prime-time runs in April.

Following is a chronological listing (all times Eastern):

TUESDAY, APRIL 9

“Splitting Up Together” (9:30-10:00 p.m.) – “Coming Home” – Milo complains that Grandparents Day is coming up at school and doesn’t feel Henry is interesting enough to participate. Lena and the kids urge Martin to reconnect with his long-estranged father, Brock (guest star Ron Perlman), to rebuild their relationship. Meanwhile, Lisa continues to struggle financially and considers moving back home with her parents. Elsewhere, after listening to a true crime podcast, Maya worries that Frank has a dark past he has been hiding.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

“Fresh Off the Boat” (8:00-8:30 p.m.) – “No Apology Necessary” – Just as the Huangs are settling into life without Eddie, an international incident catapults him not only to Taiwanese fame but also right back to America. In order to fix Eddie’s mess, the family gets a new “daughter”; but when things go awry, Jessica must add a new word to her vocabulary. Meanwhile, master babysitter Evan watches Maria for Honey and Marvin, and ends up learning more about himself than he expected.

“Speechless” (8:30-9:00 p.m.) – “U-N-R– UNREALISTIC” – Maya braces for JJ’s high school graduation and departure for college, but tough news from NYU changes everything. Dylan teaches Jimmy a “Dad lesson” as he gets ready for a big job interview. Kenneth pressures JJ to prepare for a grand finale to their time together, and Ray uses his class trip to Catalina to examine his bad luck in love.

TUESDAY, APRIL 16

“The Rookie” (10:00-11:00 p.m.) – “Free Fall” – As the rookies prepare for a big exam to see who moves on to the next stage of training, Officer Nolan and Officer Bishop are called to the scene of a murder and learn that the victim may be tied to a potential terrorist attack on the city of Los Angeles.

So many shows get the axe simply because the network finds them unworthy… This show is a keeper and should be put to a vote (and not just a NELSON’S type vote), an actual viewer vote.. Put something across the bottom of the screen like you do with all the nonsense politics and ask the real viewers opinion on whether or not they want it saved.. You will be surprised how many enjoy the show!!!!! WE DO IN THIS HOUSEHOLD!!!!!

If you’re talking about “The Rookie”, I enjoy this show too and I’m quite surprised that it is being cancelled. Still wonder at times if I should give up tv and just read because so many of the shows I like get cancelled.

That was the announcement about being renewed for SEASON 2 — last December. We’re now being told SEASON 3 is canceled!

Pleased to see that The Rookie did well, and will be back. People like Nathan, but the other cast members & the storylines are really good too. Like Mr. Fillion, we once lived in the Edmonton area; now in Calgary, it’s cool to see our fellow Canadians on hit shows! Good job, everyone.

These dates say “season finale date” which to me means, these are the dates that each show will show their final episode for this season. Anyone agree?

Shit, Rookie is being canceled, I hadn’t seen that, I am pissed, that was a great show. I am even more pissed at the mindless people that make these decisions. I am so glad I cut the cable, record OTA and skip all your GD commercials.

I too throughly enjoyed The Rookie……hate to see it go…..seems like they like to cancel every good program that comes along….almost bad enough to just stop watching TV all together…..If they dont leave at least a few good programs on …whats the point of watching TV?

I am totally confused but obviously The Rookie will not have a third season. This makes me mad. I love Nathan Fillion in whatever he does and the rest of the cast is very good as well. The premise is unique and each week the story is more than just a shoot-em-up.
Really sorry to see it go. Guess we have to make more room for another talent or strength or other competition show as that seems to be the latest rage.
