Arrow will join the list of TV shows cancelled in 2020.
The CW has cancelled the long-running superhero series. Having previously announced an eighth season while leaving the door open for Season 9, the network has now announced that Season 8 will be the last. No Season 9 for Arrow.
The eighth and final season of Arrow will comprise 10 episodes, slated to premiere during the 2019-20 season.
Series executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz said in a joint statement:
“This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of ‘Arrow’ in mind. We’re heartened by the fact that ‘Arrow’ has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and — more importantly — the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.”
Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life… but you can’t be a vigilante forever.
Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall.
There’s so much to say… for now I just want to say thank you.

There is a huge difference between a show being cancelled and the show runners deciding to end a show on its own terms.

Well while you are ending arrow take the flash also I can’t keep up with what earth they are on at any given moment. And when did Iris become leader of the team, the one that has no powers? Not enough of Joe any more. I swear they mess these shows up jus t by the writing. They were so much better the first 3 or 4 years. Why does everyone seem to know the true identities of these super heroes? Aren’t they suppose to be SECRET!!!

Joe has been doing Rent on Broadway and he was also taking a medical leave for a bit I think. I miss him too.

Yeah this show was not canceled. The star decided he wanted to spend more time with his family. There is a difference.
