The Walking Dead Cancelled? Danai Gurira Exits Before Season 11 Of AMC TV Show

February 8, 2019 by TVShowsCancelled 4 Comments

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Season 11 has lost a major player, but the show is far from cancelled.

The virtually guaranteed 11th season of the AMC drama will be without a mainstay in Danai Gurira (Michonne).

Per Deadline:

Sources confirm that Gurira, also a playwright and one of the stars of Disney/Marvel’s Best Picture Oscar nominee Black Panther, has signed a deal in which she will appear in only a handful of episodes for TWD‘s next season.

Her exit is the third major one among the main cast of the zombie apocalypse drama series, after Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan. AMC declined comment on Gurira’s exit, but Gurira’s deal seems similar in nature to what the producers are trying to work out with Cohan, who might also return for occasional episodes going forward.

The Walking Dead has been ‘officially’ renewed through Season 10, though, major actor departures aside, there are no signs of it ending soon. The franchise also spawns spinoff Fear The Walking Dead, with more spinoffs and even TV movies to come.

The Walking Dead Season 10 premieres fall 2019, with many more seasons expected.

Will The Walking Dead ever end, or will it outlive us all?

The cancellation reaper is patient. Stay tuned…

not quite 8, at least 2 or 3. It’s totally lost it’s edge over the last few seasons. And now they’re trying to turn the biggest psychopath of the entire series into Mr. Nice Guy. Talk about losing your edge.

Funny when people say end it that it’s not good anymore but still watch it every week. If you don’t watch it then why care if it’s still on. Bitching just to bitch.

Typical greed by actors. They ask for more because a show is popular and they think they are Gods gift, don’t get it and leave the show. I’ve been a bit disappointed in the show for the last two or so seasons but I still look forward to seeing it every week. Please NO spin-offs with Maggie or anyone else. If you are going to kill it, then kill it and be done with it for good.
