EXCLUSIVE: Add New Amsterdam to the list of rookie TV shows that will be back next season.
NBC has quietly renewed the medical drama for Season 2, expected to premiere fall 2019, insiders inform TVShowsCancelled.com.
The early renewal comes in the midst of a successful debut season.
New Amsterdam:
Inspired by the oldest public hospital in America, this unique medical drama follows the brilliant and charming Dr. Max Goodwin, the institution’s newest medical director, who sets out to tear up the bureaucracy and provide exceptional care. How can he help? Well, the doctors and staff have heard this before. Not taking “no” for an answer, Dr. Goodwin must disrupt the status quo and prove he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital – the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers and the president of the United States under one roof – and return it to the glory that put it on the map.
New Amsterdam joins fellow rookie Manifest on NBC’s list of TV shows renewed for Season 2.
With Season 2 secured, will New Amsterdam remain alive for Season 3, or will it be cancellation next? Stay tuned…

Great!
Barbara L says
As much as I like Ryan Egold, there is absolutely no chemistry between him and his on-screen wife. Poor casting choice ruins the show for me.
Donna Bagley says
Fantastic! We love this show and the entire cast. Hopefully, the chemistry will improve between Ryan Eggold and his screen wife. But we get it. She accepted him being a Dr., maybe just never anticipated his work ethic.
Gary says
We love the show, too! It has grown on us!
Ken says
My wife told me to check this show out. I was never a fan of other medical shows but this show I really like.
