MacGyver cancelled? George Eads is certainly ending his stay on the CBS reboot after an on-set altercation, per THR:
The actor will exit the network’s MacGyver reboot on which he has co-starred since the pilot. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the CSI grad had an altercation in October and stormed off the show’s Atlanta set despite having several remaining hours of production remaining for the day. Eads is currently in production on the drama. His final episode is slated to air sometime in 2019.
Sources note that Eads announced his plans to quit the reboot, from showrunner Peter Lenkov. Producers ultimately agreed to let the actor out of his remaining contract. Eads has been No. 2 on the call sheet [..] The character will be written out. Eads, sources say, had been asking to be let go from the Atlanta-based series for some time to spend more time with his young daughter in Los Angeles.
MacGyver is currently in its third season and chasing a fourth.
Will Eads’ departure leave the show at the cancellation reaper’s mercy or will it reconfigure for Season 4? Stay tuned for the latest updates…

That’s terrible if true. I hate hearing things like that.

It’s a Terrible Show and needs to be cancelled!

I happen to like this show, it’s just entertainment, not shakespeare and it’s not supposed to be. If it holds my attention for an hour and gets my mind off life, it’s entertainment. This show does that. Didn’t Eads also cause problems on CSI?

This actually helps the show. Eads’ character, Jack, was only a recurring character on the original and was more of a thorn in MacGyver’s side who always added a little zest to any episode he was in and was played so well by Bruce McGill. The reboot doesn’t need Eads in every episode and, frankly, it’s better without him in every episode. An occasional appearance is all that’s needed. The reboot really needs to lose Bozer. That character is totally ridiculous and adds nothing to any story except some poorly written comic relief. The show has always been about MacGyver and his unique skills. Let the show get back to the basics.

That is so sad! Why does he appear in TV series? He caused trouble on CSI and now MacGyver. If he wants to spend more time with his daughter then he needs to quit show business.

This show can survive Ead’s Departure. But they should start weening in the replacement character ASAP. While I like George, he has a Wayans complex, not guite as bad as Damon, but close. I think A female character would be great, bring back the one who was injured, (Can’t remember her name now, but she played a no no nonsense, kick butt character with a sense of humor. Bring her back now, let people get used to her as a full time, and let Ead’s go. Don’t do what Lethal Weapon did and surprise us at the beginning of the season. They didn’t make into their fifth episode and the network had already canceled it for any new seasons. This is a great show, better than it’s first turn at bat with Dean (Who was the only reason anyone watched the first time), to throw it away over a co-star would be crazy. The only reason Lethal will be gone is due to the fact that they removed the only character worth watching. Sorry for the length, it’s not like the networks will read this or listen to anyone anyway.

“It’s a terrible show and needs to be cancelled!”——–Well I happen to like the show very much. I’m sure there are shows that this person watches that some of us would think they were terrible and need to be cancelled. Some people think they know it all and it’s their way or the highway. Can’t people just say “I really don’t like the show, but I know some people do? Geez!

Terrible show unless your 5 years old and need to be entertained by goofys… You ever see the bubble gum bazooka? Seems like Homer is trying to bring it back to life. And always seems like the nice girls always get killed off.
