8 Out of 10 Cats is back
Hit comedy entertainment show, 8 Out of 10 Cats, is returning to screens for a brand new 10-part series on E4 this March.
Made by Zeppotron, part of Endemol Shine UK, the show will see Jimmy Carr again overseeing proceedings. Team captain Rob Beckett also returns along with rotating guest captains on the opposing team, including Aisling Bea, Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Kerry Godliman, Tom Allen and Roisin Conaty. Joining the team captains each week will be a range of well-known celebrity faces, as well as fresh, up and coming comic talent.
Viewers can expect the usual playful chat as the panellists chew over the country’s most talked about topics and guess the results of a wide range of surveys and opinion polls.
Jimmy Carr says:
“I’m really excited that 8 Out of 10 Cats is returning to E4. What Britain needs now more than ever, is a panel show about surveys and statistics. Well, that and six months’ supply of food and medicine.”
Rob Beckett adds:
“I am absolutely buzzing that 8 out of 10 Cats is coming back. It’s an honour and a privilege to be a part of a show that has become an institution of British comedy. This is my third series now and will hopefully be the one where my dad stops calling it 9 Out of 10 Cats.”
Karen Murdoch, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment and Events, Channel 4, says:
“We’re thrilled to be bringing back the fantastic 8 Out of 10 Cats for E4. It is consistently one of the sharpest panel shows around, which showcases some of the newest and brightest comedy talents. We can’t wait to work with the brilliant Jimmy Carr and Rob Beckett again.”
Ruth Phillips, Zeppotron Joint Managing Director, adds:
“We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing 8 Out of 10 Cats back to E4. It’s such an infectiously gleeful, upbeat show, that feels like a real tonic for these fractured times. We’re also thrilled to have the opportunity to once again give a platform to some of the most exciting new comedy talent in the country.”
The 10×40’ series was commissioned for E4 by Channel Controller Karl Warner and Head of Entertainment Ed Havard with Karen Murdoch as commissioning editor. It is executive produced by Richard Cohen, Richard Osman and Ruth Phillips from Zeppotron, the makers of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Would I Lie To You (BBC1), Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2) and The Mash Report (BBC2). The show will be series produced by Russell Balkind and directed by Barbara Wiltshire. (E4)
