After graduating from Cal Arts, Takeuchi was recruited by Pixar to work in the story department, where her credits included 2013’s Monsters University and 2015’s Inside Out. She then focused on writing, working on animated series including Gravity Falls — for which she shared an Annie Award writing nomination — as well as The Regular Show, Lost in Oz and Netflix‘s own Disenchantment.
Inside Job will be produced at Netflix Animation in Hollywood, which opened in 2018 and currently houses roughly a dozen projects, including limited series Maya and the Three, from Book of Life helmer Jorge Gutierrez; feature Jacob and the Sea Beast, from Big Hero Six director Chris Williams; children’s series Trash Truck, from creator/showrunner Max Keane; and interactive kids series Battle Kitty.
The streaming giant also has animated productions in the works at additional studios, including its first original animated feature, Klaus, from Despicable Me creator Sergio Pablos and his Madrid-based The Spa Studios, which opens at the end of the year.
