Luke Cage has joined the never-ending list of TV shows cancelled.
Netflix has cancelled Luke Cage after two seasons, opting not to renew the superhero series for Season 3, TVShowsCancelled.com can confirm.
In a statement provided to TVShowsCancelled.com, Netflix and Marvel said of the decision to cancel Luke Cage:
“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”
The cancellation comes amid creative differences, with work on the now axed third season already under way.
Luke Cage joins Iron Fist in getting cancelled after two seasons and The Defenders after one.
The future of Daredevil (Season 4) and Jessica Jones (Season 3) remain undecided.
RIP.

#$+&@%&$#@@. For those of you who do not speak klingon, I said, “We need more diverse heroes, not less! Kanye does not speak for anyone but themselves! Seriously debating my Netflix account. ” Nuff said! “

All the Marvel based superhero shows on Netflix were cancelled because Disney (who owns Marvel) is starting up their own streaming service and doesn’t want to provide shows for competitors.
